TM is easy, enjoyable, and anyone can learn
Transcendental Meditation is easy. Anyone can learn the technique in a few evening sessions, it is completely effortless and enjoyable to practice, and the effects are usually noticeable from the first few weeks.
TM is easy because it’s fundamentally different from other meditation techniques. Most people understand “meditation” to be some form of controlling the mind, usually through some kind of concentration (on a sound, the breath, or “being in the now”), with the aim of getting some silence or relaxation. Concentration, however, tends to takes a lot of disciplined training, and is usually not all that enjoyable. It can feel unnatural for the mind to be controlled.
The Transcendental Meditation technique was rediscovered 60 years ago when a young Indian scientist, Maharishi Mahesh Yogi, discovered that true meditation is not about controlling the mind at all. He developed a way to train people to activate a natural process where the mind will go to a state of complete inner silence by itself, completely effortlessly.

Älä huolestu, ole onnellinen
Huolestuminen on luonnollista.
Aloin huomata suuria muutoksia.’
‘Olen Transsendenttisen Meditaation suuri kannattaja.
-
‘Se on ollut fantastista. Ihmisillä joilla oli migreenejä, ei ole enää. Ihmiset nukkuvat paremmin. Heillä on parempia ihmissuhteita.’
Oprah (tarjosi Transsendenttista Meditaatiota kaikille jotka työskentelivät hänen palveluksessaan) -
‘Se oli kuin koko viikon edestä unta.’
Liv Tyler, näyttelijä -
‘Kärsin hirveästä unettomuudesta, ja noin vuosi sitten aloin harjoittaa TM:ää. Neljän päivän TM-harjoitusten jälkeen pystyin yhtäkkiä nukkumaan.’
Lo Bosworth, näyttelijä/kirjailija
Hugh Jackman: TM Changed My Life
In recent interviews with the UK edition of the Huffington Post and with Oprah Winfrey, Hugh Jackman discussed the fundamental role that Transcendental Meditation played in his personal and professional life. This is what he said:
“Meditation Has Changed My Life.”
“Nothing has ever opened my eyes like Transcendental Meditation has. It makes me calm and happy, and, well, it gives me some peace and quiet in what’s a pretty chaotic life!”
“The activity of being a husband, a father are roles too, but underneath them is the spiritual center that connects us all, and that’s what’s most important.”
“In meditation, I can let go of everything. I’m not Hugh Jackman. I’m not a dad. I’m not a husband. I’m just dipping into that powerful source that creates everything. I take a little bath in it.”
When asked how he could get any free time for Transcendental Meditation in his busy life, he answered:
“Everyone takes a shower every day, and we don’t complain about it. We do it out of discipline. There will always be an excuse not to meditate…. The ego says, ‘You don’t need to meditate, man. You’re really busy. What about the kids?’ But do I say, ‘I can’t shower today because I have to make time for the kids?’ No.”
Oprah Winfrey about TM: “I’m a 1000% better person if I do this”
In this interview with Dr. Oz, Oprah talks about how she learned Transcendental Meditation, how she paid the TM course fee for all 400 employees in her company, and the changes it has brought.
“9:00 in the morning, and 4:30 in the afternoon no matter what is going on, we stop and we meditate,” says Winfrey, ”And you can’t imagine what has happened in the company, people who used to have migraines, don’t. People are sleeping better, they are having better relationships and they are interacting with other people better. It’s been fantastic.” About herself, she says that she becomes a 1000% better person if, through TM, she bring herself in touch with something greater than herself.
Oprah came in contact with TM when she made a documentary about the TM community in Fairfield, Iowa, USA. The 45-minute documentary showed an enthusiastic Oprah clearly impressed by the whole community, which is famous for its low crime rate, the exceptional achievements of the Maharishi School, the advanced green technologies, a passion for healthy lifestyles, healthy food, healthy home design, and extraordinary entrepreneurship. Fairfield has been recognized as one of the most successful small business communities in the USA.
David Lynch: True happiness lies within
Over the past few years David Lynch has done more to bring the Transcendental Meditation technique to people’s attention than anyone else. He has practiced the technique for over 37 years and says he has never missed a meditation. He ascribes his legendary creativity to his TM practice. A few years ago he attended a theatre play in the Maharishi School in Fairfield, Iowa, and was so impressed by the students that he decided to devote his life to offering more children the opportunity to deploy their full creative potential. In 2005 He founded the David Lynch Foundation (DLF) which offers financial support to learn the TM technique to those that need it most. Since then the foundation has brought TM to over 250.000 students, war veterans, prisoners and people suffering from PTSD around the world.

A video was recently published on the website of his Edutopia project (the George Lucas Educational Foundation) about the exceptional success of Transcendental Meditation (Quiet Time) in a school in San Francisco see TM Edutopia Video.

Why Gisele Bündchen loves Transcendental Meditation
Many people spend their lives playing the “if only” game. “If only I were happily married, kinder to others, more successful, more beautiful, had more money, had more children, (and the list goes on), then I would be happy…”
Well, Gisele Bündchen easily ticks most of the boxes. She has been the highest-paid fashion model in the world since 2004. She is happily married to Tom Brady, the only quarterback in NFL’s history to win five Super Bowls, and together they parent three adorable children.
Besides being stunningly beautiful, the supermodel is also kind-hearted, working tirelessly for charitable causes.
Yet, as Bündchen says: whatever the external circumstances, happiness is still an inside job.
“The only place I found peace, was within,” Bündchen admits.
“You have to connect to that place within yourself that knows your essence, knows that you come from love. That, I think, keeps everything joyful.
The experience I’ve had in my life is that it does not really come from outside, it comes from inside.”

Tim Ferriss on Transcendental Meditation as a Tool for Titans
The New Yorker magazine has labelled Tim Ferriss, an American author, entrepreneur and public speaker as “this generation’s self-help guru.” His wildly popular books The 4-Hour Workweek, The 4-Hour Body, The 4-Hour Chef have all swiftly reached the top of the New York Times, Wall Street Journal and USA Today bestseller lists.
On December 6th, 2016, Ferriss released his latest book, Tools of Titans: The Tactics, Routines, and Habits of Billionaires, Icons, and World-Class Performers. The book is based on his interviews with more than 200 world-class performers including celebrities, athletes and scientists for his podcast The Tim Ferriss Show.
In recent articles Ferriss wrote for The Observer he revealed what the one routine common to “titans” in any field of life is: meditation.
Ferriss says that more than 80% of the world-class performers he interviewed were using meditation to get better results with less stress and to effectively recover from the feeling of “being in a trench on the front lines” throughout the day.
Ferriss himself practices Transcendental Meditation, which he credits for kicking off his consistent daily meditation practice two years ago.
“Rick Rubin and Chase Jarvis convinced me to bite the bullet on the cost when I was going through a particularly hard period in my life. I’m glad they did.
The social pressure of having a teacher for 4 consecutive days was exactly the incentive I needed to meditate consistently enough to establish the habit,” Ferris explains the benefits of the structured course.
Ferriss also addressed one of the common fears that props up regarding meditation:
“I was also afraid of “losing my edge,” as if meditation would make me less aggressive or driven.
That was unfounded; meditation simply helps you channel drive toward the few things that matter, rather than every moving target and imaginary opponent that pops up.”
On top of this neat description, Ferriss also nicely summed it all up with a quote by Abraham Lincoln: “Give me six hours to chop down a tree and I’ll spend the first four sharpening the axe.”
